Fake weight loss products: TGA safety warning

In an updated safety advis­ory, the TGA recommends health professionals advise their patients of the risks associated with unregist­ered glucagon­-like peptide­-1 (GLP­-1) receptor agonists or analogues after testing con­firmed counterfeit imported weight loss products. TGA laboratory testing of several imported unregistered products has confirmed that they contained no GLP­-1 receptor agonists or analogues, despite being labelled as such.
